Who's Talking?

I want to continue my thought from earlier today on speaking the truth versus living it. To begin I want to be clear about what I am not saying. I am not saying we should not be preaching the 3 angels messages or telling people that God has placed a high calling on their life.

The problem is that to often we are to caught up looking for someone to tell something to, that we forget that we ourselves should be listening. Listening for the Holy Spirit and doing what He tells us. Being slow to speak and quick to listen. In my own life I can look back at many times when I would hear the Holy Spirit speaking to me and rather then acting on it I would go find someone and tell them to do what the Spirit was telling me to do.

There is a time to preach and a time to teach, but before those times there is a time to do. I think that we would find that if we would follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in our day to day lives we would discover that by our influence others would begin to follow Him as well.

  1. Man, this is such a good point! The reason Jesus always, ALWAYS, knew what to do and when to speak is because He was so in tune with the Holy Spirit. If ever God wants us to learn this it is now. I agree we need to do much more listening and learn to truly be connected to God. After all, Jesus, who is God, spent countless hours in prayer, making sure he was always connected. I have little to show in comparison...God help us...
